Background

Landon Stinson is the founder of Beacon Legal PLLC. Landon became interested in the law while attending jury duty a few years after high school. As an undergraduate, Landon attended the University of Central Florida, where he majored in Economics and minored in Legal Studies. At UCF, Landon was a member of the Honors Moot Court, placing in the top ten out of over a hundred student orators at a national collegiate moot court competition.

While at UCF, Landon served as president of the UCF Economics Society, as well as played in a local indie rock band. And as a student journalist, Landon authored several front-page stories for the UCF student newspaper. Additionally, Landon found the time to take on several part-time jobs while at UCF, including a position at the school library and the local Smoothie King. Finally, at the end of his college career, Landon was offered a scholarship to attend Boston College Law School, which he accepted.

In the Spring between graduating from UCF and moving to Boston for law school, Landon sharpened his writing and investigation skills as a freelance journalist for the Pensacola News Journal, writing several front-page environmental pieces

During law school, Landon was a student attorney in the Boston College Civil Litigation Clinic, an initiative for law students to gain experience while helping members of the community who could not otherwise afford legal services. At the Clinic, Landon advocated for a client to receive government-assisted housing, leading to the person's first permanent residence after over a year of homelessness. Landon, in addition, led several student groups during law school, such as the Boston College Christian Legal Fellowship and the Boston College Space Law Society. Landon also had the opportunity to work as a federal judicial intern for a summer at the Northern District of Florida Court.

After returning to Florida and passing the bar, Landon practiced as an insurance defense lawyer at Cole, Scott & Kissane, the largest Florida law firm.  While practicing insurance defense law, Landon represented multiple insurers in a variety of different practice areas, such as first-party property, personal injury protection, and personal injury. This invaluable experience gave Landon insight into how insurance defense attorneys approach cases. Eventually, Landon left the firm to found Beacon Legal PLLC.
